About
The question comes first.
My work sits where business needs, analytical thinking, and practical technology meet.
A connecting thread
I’m Jorge Aviles. My experience spans legal services, banking, and academia. Across those settings, I’ve been interested in the same problem: how to turn complicated information into something people can understand and use.
At the Committee for Public Counsel Services, I am the sole hands-on developer of analytical notebooks, an Azure Synapse warehouse, and the Blazor-based Audit Portal. The work incorporates consultation with Suffolk University, practical feedback from Audit & Oversight colleagues, and IT support for data access and infrastructure.
Earlier work at Santander brought together data quality, CRM and marketing data, and business analysis for capital technology projects. Research assistance at CENTRUM PUCP connected quantitative methods with business questions.
How I work
I start with the people using the result and the decision or workflow it needs to support. I examine data quality and assumptions, make trade-offs explicit, and favor behavior that can be tested and explained.
The right result might be an analysis, a better data pipeline, a report, or an application. The form follows the need, and the work improves with feedback.
